SLS Masterclasses
What is a Masterclass?
- An exceptional opportunity to study from a “Master” of the art- a person who has a legacy of successful teaching, training and methodology.
- A vocal Masterclass is conducted by a Master Teacher with many years’ experience in training successful artists, and who in many cases has had a successful performing career as well.
- The teacher is a world-renowned expert in his/her field, with numerous credits, accolades and awards for exceptional accomplishments in the field of vocal music.
Why Take a Masterclass?
- A Masterclass is given in order to allow local students the opportunity to study with a teacher who has earned an exalted and worldwide reputation.
- Students are selected from the class to sing in front of the class.
- The Master Teacher works with the student to improve vocal technique, style, or performance skills.
- The teacher may choose to limit the interaction to vocal exercises and technique, or may choose to incorporate other aspects such as movement, style, emotional connection, etc.

Students who are not selected to sing will learn equally by observing other students working with the teacher. Vocal students benefit tremendously from the information they receive, as well as the opportunity to meet a successful Music Business Professional.
Advanced students who are ready for a career are able to draw upon the connection with the teacher in networking in the industry, and the teacher may sometimes refer talented individuals to other professionals who can assist them in advancement of their career.
Every serious student of voice should take advantage of the opportunity to expand skill levels and connections in the industry by taking Masterclasses when they are offered. SLS Masterclasses occur twice per year in the local area, and are also offered at Summer Program in Los Angeles, CA.
